Met Eireann has upgraded its wind warning to status orange for counties along the Western seaboard - including Mayo, Sligo, Donegal, Galway, Clare and Kerry - ahead of the arrival of Storm Callum.

The warning is in place for all coastal counties from 10pm tomorrow night until 12 noon on Friday.

Strong winds coinciding with high spring tides will affect the country.

Winds will be strongest overnight on Thursday and into Friday morning, with gusts of up to 130 kilometres per hour expected in coastal areas.
