The Criminal Assets Bureau is currently investigating four individuals in Co Mayo who are suspected of gaining financially from criminal activities.

Detective Chief Superintendent Patrick Clavin from the Criminal Assets Bureau addressed the Mayo Joint Policing Committee in Ballina last Friday, and explained that there are 8 Gardai in Mayo trained as assets profilers, who carry out preliminary work on behalf of the Criminal Assets Bureau.

Detective Chief Supt Clavin confirmed that there are four active cases in Mayo at present, which he said was a low figure, by national standards.
