A public meeting will take place this evening (Tuesday) in Belcarra in an effort to retain a post offices in both Belcarra and Ballyglass.
Both Post Offices, located outside Castlebar, are due to close, as more than 160 rural post offices nationally are set to be lost as postmistresses and postmasters retire.
Gerry Loftus Chairman of the farm lobby group the INHFA will address the meeting that will take place in Belcarra Community Centre this evening at 8pm.
The organisers of tonight’s meeting say the post offices in both communities are valued amenities in the areas.
Save our local post office is the topic up for discussion this evening.
