The man who died after his car left the road at the Quay in Newport yesterday morning has been named.
He was David Walsh, who was in his late 20’s and from Derrykell, Newport.
Mr Walsh died after this car left the road and entered the Newport River on the Quay Road. The car was discovered shortly after 7am yesterday morning.
He body was recovered from the car and taken to Mayo University Hospital where a post mortem examination was carried out.
David’s remains will repose at the family residence in Derrykell on Tuesday evening from 4-8pm. He will be laid to rest on Wednesday in Burrishoole Cemetery following 12 noon Funeral Mass in St Patrick’s Church Newport.
