A new Plaza will be opened this morning in Knock village at 10am.

The 100,000 euro development will be officially opened by the Minister for Rural and Community Affairs Michael Ring.

Funding was secured for the development under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

Local Fine Gael Councillor John Cribben says it’s a wonderful new addition to the Marian village.

Speaking to Midwest News  this morning councillor Cribben said the completion of the new Plaza just days ahead of the visit of Pope Francis to Knock this Sunday, is very appropriate.
