Galway has been voted the 5th friendliest city in the world.
According to Conde Nast Traveler, hundreds of thousands of readers have taken part in a survey, and have come up with the 2018 list of the ten friendliest cities in the world.
Three of the ten places went to cities in Ireland, with Cork in 3rd place, Galway in 5th place, and Dublin taking 8th place.
According to Conde Nast Traveler, readers were particularly struck by the locals in Galway "who instantly make you feel welcomed".
They recommend that visitors to the city make time during the day to snap photos of the Spanish Arch and Claddagh, while nights are reserved for sipping Guinness with the friendly crowds.
The No 1 spot went to San Migeul de Allende in Mexico which has been voted the world's friendliest city.
