Fr Tony Coote completed a 550km trek from Letterkenny in Donegal to Ballydehob in Cork earlier this week.
The aim of the feat was to both draw awareness of Motor Neuron Disease and raise funds to combat the condition.
Following his own diagnosis with the disease in March, Fr. Tony undertook the challenge of walking the 550km distance between the two towns, stopping in Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare and Limerick on the way.
An enormous number of walkers and well-wishers in each area came out to support him in reaching the €250,000 target to help fund care and research into combating MND, for which there is no cure.
They walked under the banner of ‘Walk While You Can’ and the hashtag #walkwithtony.
