The annual national Novena at Knock Shrine has been overshadowed this year in light of the visit of Pope Francis to the Shrine on August 26th, nonetheless the 2018 novena is going ahead starting on Tuesday next , August 14th and up to 150,000 people are expected to attend over the 9 days.

That’s according to the Parish Priest of Knock Fr Richard Gibbons.

As preparations for the papal visit are well underway Fr Gibbons told Midwest News that Knock is a hive of activity and with the visit of Pope Francis it is hoped to showcase what Knock and its various faith renewal programmes has to offer individuals and families.
