After a month without any significant rain, scattered showers are forecast across the country in the coming days - however water restrictions will continue.
Met Éireann says showers will spread across the northern half of the country today with top temperatures of 17-20 degrees in the coming days.
Irish Water is still urging people to conserve supplies, saying the national hosepipe ban introduced last week is having an impact, but more savings are needed.
Restrictions to water supplies are now in place across 14 counties, with seven drinking water supplies affected in Co Galway.
Meanwhile, several units of the Galway Fire Service tackled a smouldering bog fire near the village of Barna yesterday evening.
Plumes of smoke could be seen from several kilometres away, and a section of the Barna to Moycullen road was closed to traffic for a time to facilitate fire crews.
