Minister for the OPW and Flood Relief Kevin Boxer Moran will be in Mayo today.
Minister Moran will visit the Town Hall in Crossmolina at 2.30pm to launch the public exhibition for the River Deel Drainage Scheme.
The proposed scheme will see the construction of a diversion channel upstream of the town, which will take large flows directly to an outflow point, creating temporary washlands which will empty directly into Lough Conn; the installation of a weir and spillway, works to bridges, a new road system for Mullenmore area and a warning system.
At 3.45pm Minister Moran will visit the Céide Fields Visitor Centre to welcome the bringing home of the prestigious Carlo Scarpa International Landscape Prize.
Every year the International Carlo Scarpa Prize is awarded for gardens - to attract attention to a site which is particularly rich in natural, historical and creative values.
This year the Céide Fields was selected as the overall winner of the award for 2018.
