Funding of €96,000 has been allocated for heritage projects in Mayo under two schemes.

The Heritage Minister Josepha Madigan has announced allocations under both the Structures at Risk Fund, and the Built Heritage Investment Scheme.

Three projects will receive funding under the Structures at Risk Fund, with €22,000 for roof repairs at Milford House, Cloghan’s Hill; €15,000 for St Catherine’s Church in Louisburg, and €9,000 for Turlough Lodge for roof repairs.

Both St Catherine’s Church in Louisburgh and Turlough Lodge, outside Castlebar, have also been allocated funding under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme.

A total of €50,000 has been allocated under this scheme to conserve and repair eight historic buildings across Co Mayo.
