Motorists are being advised to slow down with two weather warnings in place for snow & ice.

Snow and ice are forecast this evening and tonight in Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Leitrim, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford, with up to 3 cm of snow leading to hazardous conditions on roads and footpaths.

Met Eireann has also issued a national snow and ice warning for tomorrow.

Snow showers will be most frequent in the west and north of the country, with slippery roads and footpaths due to ice on untreated surfaces.

The national warning is in place from 4am tomorrow morning until midnight tomorrow night.

The Road Safety Authority is advising all road users to take extra care as roads conditions may be hazardous.
