The icon of the World Meeting of Families is visiting St Patrick’s Church in Ballyhaunis at present.

The icon, which was unveiled at Knock Shrine last August – is currently visiting a number of parishes in the Archdiocese of Tuam.

It was created to encourage reflection and prayer as part of the preparations for the World Meeting of Families, which takes place in Dublin next August.

The icon has already visited Tuam, Athenry, Glenamaddy and Carraroe over the past few days and is in Ballyhaunis for 24 hours until lunchtime tomorrow, before moving onto Westport and Castlebar this weekend.
