  • Funding of over €1.2 million has been allocated to build seven new social houses at Clooneybeirne in Roscommon Town.

The Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy has given Roscommon County Council the funding go-ahead for this housing construction scheme at Cluain Fraoigh.

Roscommon-based FG Senator Frank Feighan says this provision is part of the Government’s housing action plan, ‘Rebuilding Ireland.’

He's hoping to see the 7 new social houses coming on stream as soon as possible to help tackle the housing shortage in the area.

  • A design team is expected to be appointed by the end of this month, to design the proposed new medical rehabilition unit at Roscommon University Hospital.

Senator Frank Feighan questioned the Minister for Mental Health & Older People Jim Daly last week in relation to progress on the Rehab unit - which will be the only one of its kind in the West of Ireland.

Minister Daly's office has now responded to Senator Feighan, and said letters will issue next week to advise the successful and unsuccessful design teams, and the appointments should be concluded by the end of this month.
